  • Invert colors.
  • You can invert the colors of an image in paint. It is simple, just press control and alt while you right-click, and select invert.
  • Transparent the background selection.
  • If you wanted to cut the background out of an image to use that image elsewhere, simply go to select, then select the free form and carefully outline the area that you want to remove and cut as desired.
  • Change the brush size if anything the size of the brush can be annoying, but if you wanted to either go with a bigger brush size or a smaller one, just press control and the plus or minus key till you have the brush size of your choice.
  • Trace a picture.
  • This is an amazing trick. Find the photo you want to trance, select a black color swatch and start outlining your picture.  
  • When done, press ctrl and alt then right-click to invert then go to file and properties. Switch it to black and white in color and click okay. Then press control alt right-click again to invert the colors again. Then just clean it up with the brush and eraser.
  • Replace one color with another with the eraser tool suppose you want to replace one color with another. In the first swatch put the color you want to replace and in the next the one you want to replace it with. Then right-click and move the mouse over the image until you have replaced the color you want.
  • Create a gradient effect.
  • In paint create the work area to the size you want. Then cut that work area diagonally and fill in the two different colors.
  • Then go to the resize tab,  and then switch to pixels.  
  • Uncheck the aspect ratio and set the horizontal value to 1. Then change it to 500 at least 3 more times. The more you change it to 500, the smoother the edges will be.
